Title:  Not to Lose Own Identity in an International Environment

– A personal experience in an UN specialized agency (WHO) –

Abstract:

I will discuss with the audience on my personal experience in WHO where I worked more than 15 years. UN agencies like WHO are a melting pot of many races, nationalities, cultures, religions, and others where there are neither standards nor a set of norms applicable for all. It does not mean, however, that we should bury ourselves or our identities with many other people. Our own firm value coupled with the well-founded scientific background is a key element of survival or success in the international environment. In addition, since I am an epidemiologist by training, its fundamental concept will also be presented if time allows.
