Venue: Lecture room1 (3F), Medical Education & Library Building

Abstract:

Around 310,000 are qualified as a doctor in Japan and most of them are clinical doctors engaged in medical treatment. Those who do not choose a clinician become a researcher or a government administrator. This seminar will introduce medical technical officials in government, mainly in Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

The number of medical technical officers in Japan is only 250. Their main tasks are medical policy and disease control. However, other administrative fields that need medical sciences such as the promotion of medical research, school health, environmental pollution control, etc., also require the contribution of those technical officers.

The cycle of present state analysis, implementation of measures, its evaluation and improvement in conducting business is basically similar to the one in clinical treatment. So, medical technical officers are expected to make full use of their capacities and skills in promoting the measures based on science technologies.
