Abstract:

Though Japan’s average life span was the shortest among the OECD countries during 1960’s, it became the longest in 20 years later and has kept its first place since then. However, as a result of that, Japan has become an unprecedented super aging society and will turn into a totally different country from what it is in 50 years’ time. What will happen to life, society and health care then? Conventional social design based on adulthood, which has been assumed since modern era and medical care revolving around acute medical care are facing the need to make significant changes. This seminar will explore the state of health care in super aging time that the world has never experienced together with you.
