Title: Engagement in international cooperation through JICA

Abstract:
As the agency undertaking the integrated management of Japan’s Official Development Assistance, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) provides international cooperation to developing countries. Under the vision “Dynamic development that helps everyone enjoy benefit,” the agency, employing the optimal method among the variety of assistance approaches, combines region and country-oriented approach and specific problem-oriented approach to help developing countries resolve their problems. Based on my work experiences in Oceania (Samoa and Fiji), I will talk about international cooperation, JICA’s missions, the meaning of working overseas, and personnel required in international cooperation.
