Title: The role of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in global health and career path.

Abstract:

As the spread of measles in Japan illustrates, infectious disease crosses international borders. As the globalization deepens, infectious disease has become a threat not only to the so-called developing countries but to the developed ones. However, vaccine can prevent many infectious diseases and vaccination is considered as most beneficial and cost-effective among health policies. Created to promote vaccines for children in 73 world’s poorest countries, Gavi is a relatively new business model in global health field, which brings together public and private sectors. This seminar will present the roles Gavi plays in global health. It will also show the examples of career path to those who want to develop their careers in international cooperation fields including Gavi.
