Abstract:
It is considered that BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China) will have a large influence on the economy of the world in the 21st century. Especially, India is considered to be the most important country for the pharmaceutical industry. The main function of the pharmaceutical industry of India is the supply of the generics toward Europe and USA, including the supply of the drugs toward India, Africa and south Asia. Moreover, many Indian companies are supplying the drugs to Russia. A lot of global pharmaceutical companies are working in India, and there are very many domestic companies. Japanese companies are feeling the advantage against both Indian market and the window of the market of Russia, Africa and south Asia. Although Indian companies are supplying many generics to USA, they have received the many warning letters related with GMP etc. from FDA. India is being expected as the global site of pharmaceutical products and API. However, Indian companies should realize again that the safety and the quality on the pharmaceuticals should precede its economy.
