Date&Time: 12 Oct.(Thu.) 2018, 13:15- 14:45
Venue: Miyamoto Memorial Hall, Oe campus, Kumamoto University
Abstract:
Recently, Central Social Insurance Medical Council has decided to use the data obtained from the cost effectiveness of some expensive medicines in revising the drug policy from this year. This illustrates the progress in the use of cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit parameters in policy making. However, there are challenges in measuring cost effectiveness or cost vs. benefit techniques. In this seminar, I will discuss about the present situation of effectiveness analysis in some policy decisions and also about the challenges in value evaluation of human life and technology in the society with significant progress in IT. In addition, I will introduce about the evaluation of administrative policy of a country and “value evaluation” in modern society.
