Title: Local Passion towards Global Contribution: Step by Step Approach by a Community Health Worker to serve a Global Program of WHO

Abstract:

Appropriate training of Human Resources for Health who will eventually serve the underserved communities with a view to improving health care accessibility has been one of the biggest challenges, for decades. Another challenge is the retention of trained Human Resources for Health to serve the communities where basic health care services are not to the mark and where their services are needed most.

The presentation will explain how a Community Health Worker’s passion to serve such communities will be explained and how the accumulated efforts showed him the way to serve the Global Leprosy Program of the World Health Organization (WHO).
