Governmental Seminar
Speaker: Yoshiomi Mori (President, Kumamoto- Indonesia Friendship Association (KIFA))
Title: An International Exchange: Ties between Kumamoto and Indonesia
Date&Time: 6 Jun. (Thu.) 2019, 13:15-14:45
Venue: Lecture room3 (4F), General Medical Research Building
Abstract:
In today’s globalized world, interdependence of states has been deepened. Given the scarce human resources who can promote overseas expansion of small and medium businesses, the Japanese government has been trying to develop ‘global talents.’
Not only a government, but also an individual sometime plays an important role in international exchange. Though the grassroots exchange needs time, it surely expands. Opportunities for grassroots exchange could sometimes be unimaginable as seen in the case of Kumamoto and Indonesia.
The international exchange between Kumamoto and Indonesia is diverse: a cultural exchange in personal level, MOU between Kumamoto prefecture and Bali province, hotels’ exchange of memorandums, and a sister-university affiliation.
