Abstract:

With the increasing world population, it is becoming difficult to balance the production supply and sustainable development of animal meat and seafood industry. Cultured meat, having low environmental impact, has been attracting attention and is being developed worldwide in order to realize the sustainable development. However, the cost of culturing animal cells was extremely high which hindered the large scale production. We have developed a method that does not require the existing cell culture method and produces animal cells by interaction between organs that mimics the circulatory system in the body. As a result, the overall cultivation costs have been significantly reduced, and development has progressed to the stage of manufacturing and selling cultured meat by the end of 2021. In this seminar, as a co-founder of the company, I will talk about the future of CulNet System and its glocal perspective.
