Venue: Conference Room(1F), IMEG
Abstract:
How far have we thought of the border where the sea and land intersect? Tidal activity creates periodically dried-up area, far into the depth of a gulf, with deposited soil and sand covering the vast area of the shore.
Solar energy from the heaven, and rich minerals of the land are miraculously combined to sustain highly productive eco-system, playing pivotal role in the whole environmental circulations.
Look at ourselves, the humans. Haven’t we kept destroying such enigmatically well-balanced eco-system, just to maintain human-centric way of life in the name of development and disaster-prevention? Let’s contemplate the issue in long-term scale with the aid of biological viewpoint, watching the reality of Ariake-Sea reclamation project, to get a clue for better answer for all of us.
