Title: From Kumamoto to the world: Challenges of Ajisen Ramen that started its business as a small ramen restaurant.

Yoshie Shigemitsu was born in Kumamoto. After graduating from university, she started her career as a caster of local radio station. In 1996, she joined Shigemitsu Industry Co., Ltd after studying Hotel & Restaurant Management at a university in New York, USA. Seeking to become a bridge between Asia and Japan through food, she travels around overseas outlets to promote further globalization of Ajisen Ramen. Apart from giving seminars and lectures, she supports the network of Japanese doing business abroad as an advisor of Tokyo Wakyokai Group. She helps to connect her Kakyo (Overseas Chinese) network and Japanese network. She also organizes “Global Women’s Association” – association of women playing active and vigorous roles both nationally and globally.
