Abstract:

In business, we are always required to provide unique technologies to new markets and customers in line with changing circumstances. During the pandemic of the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19), Takara Bio communicated with the national research institutes and the competent authorities for regulatory submissions, coordinated with the research and development section and the manufacturing section of the company, and implemented clinical performance studies in collaboration with a university hospital to solve the social problem of a shortage of test kits for diagnosis of COVID-19 . As a result, it could supply a substantial quantity of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test kits to society. In this seminar, I will describe how Takara Bio, whose core business is laboratory reagents and contract research services based on cutting-edge biotechnologies, has entered the COVID-19 diagnostic field, sharing my three-year experience in this field as a marketing manager.
