Abstract:
Based on the principle of supporting families with children, the Tokyo metropolitan government has developed the Comprehensive Child Support Program and is undertaking various efforts to build a society in which children—who are responsible for the next generation—are able to grow up in good mental and physical health regardless of the environment surrounding them.
This is the second term plan period with this goal and was developed in March 2020 based on opinions and perspectives from children. Starting with this plan, the Tokyo metropolitan government is developing a system to reflect children’s opinions in policy-making.
In this seminar, I will introduce Tokyo’s efforts to develop strategies and policies from children’s perspectives, describe the lecture that was provided in a course on program development, and outline the children’s symposium which was based on this lecture.
